Impending Machines
I don't like the machines when they come at night
everything is agash and it's such a fright
there's robot beasts in the hallway
they're gonna climb in our room
they're gonna take us away
if you don't do what I say
you should go and I'll stay
I think it's better that way
hey hey
There's only one more escape but it's a hat trick
you've got to turn all the locks to the second click
and go down the stairs you'll see a trap door
and when you stand next to that they're gonna fall through the floor
and then it's gonna be war
so run like before
and yell from your core
la la la la la la la la!
run run run!
I'm putting my hands onto my swimming head
I'm throwing the sheets off of a sweaty bed
I rise to the window on my two feet
but the impending machines they're only sweeping the street
I could hear them in sleep
no need to beat a retreat
in this summertime heat
now I'm back with you again
now I'm back with you again

The groove on Badala is an absolute monster. If this doesn't move you, you might as well check yourself into the ER to make sure you aren't dead because the groove is DEEP and HARD. Polygondwanajams

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
